I am Vanessa Lafaye, a breast cancer survivor and choir leader based in Wiltshire, UK.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that singing got me through my treatment – the sheer joy of it, the support of my choir pals, the feeling that I could continue this ‘normal’ activity when everything else was so weird.

My goal now is to bring harmony singing to disease support groups, so that others can benefit.

I’m not a medical practitioner, nor am I offering music therapy.  I’m offering the chance to sing for pleasure, in a safe and non-judgmental environment.  I’ve designed the sessions to be accessible for people with limited mobility and stamina, as well as for those who feel fine.

Everyone can take part.  There are no auditions, and no music to read.   I am a trained Natural Voice Practitioner and hold to its principles of inclusiveness.  Click here for more information about the NVPN. I teach everything by ear.  So please contact me if your group would be interested in a free ‘taster’ session.  This is usually 1-2 hours with a break for refreshments.

What a wonderful thing to do !
Music doesn’t belong only to the singers. It belongs to the people who need it. May you bring some joy to those in need.
